Angola travel restrictions from Ethiopia

International travel to Angola is permitted. It is necessary to comply with requirements to ensure entry is allowed.

Other restrictions

When departing Angola, travelers are required to provide proof of a negative COVID-19 test, taken within 72 hours of departure. Angolan nationals, including dual citizens, are required to show proof of vaccination.

Vaccinations and vaccinated travel

Travelers who present a valid international certificate for full vaccination against COVID-19, with the use of an approved vaccine, are exempt from quarantine requirements.

Quarantine required

All travelers are required to self-quarantine for 7 days. Residents can self-quarantine at home if the airport test result is negative. If the result is positive, quarantine will take place at a government-approved facility. Non-resident essential workers must quarantine in a government-approved facility regardless of the test result.
A follow-up test will be administered at the end of the quarantine period. Those testing negative will be relieved from quarantine, and those testing positive will be transferred to a government-approved facility for observation and further testing.
A 'titulo de alta (ALTA)' will be issued once the follow-up test is confirmed negative.

Test/medical certificate required

Proof of a negative PCR test, taken within the previous 72 hours, must be presented on departure.

Testing on arrival

A rapid COVID-19 test will be administered on arrival and passengers must wait at the airport for results.

Additional documents required

An 'advance passenger information form' must also be completed within 72 hours of arrival. - Advance passenger information form

Vaccinations and vaccinated travel

Travelers who present a valid international certificate for full vaccination against COVID-19, with the use of an approved vaccine, are exempt from the self-isolation requirement.

Quarantine required

Travelers are required to self-isolation for 7 days on arrival at their own residence or accommodation. Travelers must provide their self-isolation address on arrival.
Those who have recently recovered from COVID-19 who can provide a certificate of recovery, issued within 90 days before arrival, are exempt from the self-quarantine requirement.

Test/medical certificate required

Proof of a negative RT-PCR test, taken within the previous 5 days, must be provided on arrival. The 5-day time frame begins when the sample is provided and not when the certificate is issued. Authorities may also require travelers to show a valid test result before boarding.
The test result must be validated via the Africa Union Trusted Travel or UNDP Global Haven systems. Travelers only need to register and upload the results to one of these sites. This will generate a digital Trusted Travel reference code which must be presented alongside the test result on arrival. - Africa Union Trusted Travel - UNDP Global Haven
