Bahrain travel restrictions from Canada

International travel to Bahrain is permitted and visas will be issued on arrival. Citizens of Bahrain and the Gulf Cooperation Council will not require visas. It is necessary to comply with requirements to ensure entry is permitted.

Open with conditions

If another country has been visited in the previous 14 days that is considered on the 'red list', travelers will not be permitted to enter Bahrain. This does not apply to citizens and residents of Bahrain. Travelers are required to provide proof of a negative PCR test with a QR code, taken within the previous 48 hours, on departure.
A list of countries on the 'red list' can be found at https://www.bahrainairport.bh/covid-19-travel-information

Other restrictions

Travelers are required to download 'BeAware Bahrain' mobile app and sign a self-isolation agreement.

Vaccinated traveller exceptions

Travelers who have been vaccinated in countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), who can present a valid certificate for full vaccination against COVID-19, are exempt from testing and quarantine requirements. This also applies to those vaccinated in countries with mutual recognition, including Greece, Cyprus, Hungary, Israel, and Seychelles.
Those who have been vaccinated in the United States of America, the United Kingdom, member states of the European Union, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, South Korea, Japan, or Singapore, who can present a valid certificate for full vaccination against COVID-19, are exempt from quarantine requirements. Travelers will still be tested on arrival and 10 days later.
Proof vaccination must be uploaded on the 'BeAware Bahrain' mobile app and travelers will be provided with a 'vaccination certification card' proving the acceptance of the vaccination status.

Quarantine required

Travelers are required to quarantine for 10 days at a private residence or at a government facility.
Proof of a pre-paid booking may be required before departure. Those who choose to quarantine at home must provide proof of residence, under their name or the name of an immediate family member.

Test/medical certificate required

Proof of a negative PCR test with a QR code, taken within the previous 72 hours, must be provided on departure. Nationals and residents must provide proof of PCR testing taken with the previous 48 hours.

Additional test requirements

PCR tests will be administered on arrival, on day 5, and on day 10. All tests are carried out at the expense of the traveler. The tests can be paid via the 'BeAware Bahrain' mobile application.
