Vaccinations and vaccinated travel

Travelers who present a valid certificate for full vaccination against COVID-19 issued in some countries are exempt from pre-departure testing, post-arrival testing on day 8, and quarantine requirements. The final dose must have been administered at least 14 days before departure.
Vaccinated travelers are still required to book a rapid lateral flow test or PCR test for day 2 after arrival and complete a passenger locator form. Travelers testing positive on the rapid lateral flow test will undergo PCR testing. Those who test positive on the PCR test will be required to self-isolate for 10 days.
Vaccination exemptions will only apply if the full dose and certificate were issued in the United Kingdom, Europe, United States, and other specific countries. A full list of authorized vaccines and issuing countries can be found at

Quarantine required

Travelers are required to self-quarantine for 10 days on arrival at their own residence or accommodation, or the full duration of the trip if staying less than 10 days.
If traveling to England, travelers may apply for the 'Test to Release' scheme to be tested on the fifth day after arrival and be relieved from self-isolation early, if the result is negative. Those with a positive result will be required to self-isolate for another 10 days.
Further details can be found at

Test/medical certificate required

Proof of a negative nucleic acid test, such as a PCR, LAMP, or antigen test, taken within the previous 72 hours, must be provided on departure. This certificate must be in English, French, or Spanish.
Further information on tests such as the minimum standards accepted can be found at

Testing on arrival

Those traveling to England are required to purchase a 'COVID Testing Package' before departure, for 'Day 2 and day 8 tests'. These tests must be administered twice during isolation, on or before day 2 and on day 8.
Vaccinated travelers who meet the exemption criteria are only required to book a 'Day 2 test'.
Unvaccinated travelers staying for less than 10 days, and vaccinated travelers staying for less than 2 days, are still required to book the relevant testing package regardless of the duration of their stay. The tests only have to be taken if the travelers are still in England on the test dates.
