Egypt travel restrictions from Qatar

International travel to Egypt is permitted. It is necessary to comply with requirements to ensure entry is allowed.

Vaccinated traveller exceptions

Travelers who present a valid international certificate for full vaccination against COVID-19, with the use of an approved vaccine, are exempt from pre-departure testing requirements. The final dose must have been administered at least 14 days before departure.
The vaccine certificate must have been issued by an accredited laboratory in the country of issue and linked with a QR code.

Test/medical certificate required

A printed proof of a negative PCR test, taken within the previous 72 hours, must be provided on departure.
Foreign travelers arriving in Hurghada (HRG), Marsa Alam (SSH), or Sharm El Sheikh (SSH) arriving without valid proof of a negative PCR test are required to take a PCR test on arrival. The test will cost $30 USD and travelers will be required to self-isolate at a hotel until a negative result is confirmed. If a positive result is received, travelers may be required to undergo 14-day isolation at the hotel.

Testing on arrival

Travelers arriving from countries where COVID-19 variants of concern have been identified are subject to a rapid COVID-19 test on arrival. A list of identified countries has not been confirmed.

Additional documents required

A completed 'health declaration form' must be presented prior to boarding and on arrival. All travelers must provide proof of travel insurance which includes full coverage of COVID-19 medical costs and accommodation in case of any quarantine requirements. Vaccinated traveller exceptions

Authorized travelers who present a valid international certificate for full vaccination against COVID-19, with the use of an approved vaccine, will undergo antibody testing on arrival and are exempt from the quarantine requirement if a positive test result is confirmed. Those who receive a negative test result must undergo PCR testing and are not exempt from the quarantine requirement.
The final dose must have been administered at least 14 days before departure. Only vaccines recognized in Qatar will be accepted.

Quarantine required

Travelers are required to undergo PCR testing on arrival and must quarantine at a hotel for 10 days. A PCR test will be administered on day 9 and those testing negative may exit quarantine on day 10. The hotel quarantine package must be booked at https://www.discoverqatar.qa/welcome-home/
Those who have recently recovered from COVID-19 are exempt from the quarantine requirement if a PCR test is taken on arrival and a negative test result is confirmed. This only applies to those who have been diagnosed in Qatar.
Those who have been diagnosed in any Gulf Cooperation Council country who have been vaccinated with at least 1 dose of an approved vaccine and must provide a valid official certificate from the local Ministry of Health proving the previous infection are exempt from the quarantine requirement.

Test/medical certificate required
