Guatemala travel restrictions from Belize

International travel to Guatemala is permitted. It is necessary to comply with requirements to ensure entry is permitted.

Open with conditions

If another country has been visited in the previous 14 days that is considered high-risk, travelers will not be allowed to enter. There are exemptions for citizens and residents. The list of high-risk countries can be found at https://www.gov.uk/foreign-travel-advice/guatemala/entry-requirements

Vaccinations and vaccinated travel

Travelers who present a valid international certificate for full vaccination against COVID-19, with the use of an approved vaccine, are exempt from testing requirements. The final dose must have been administered more than 14 days before departure.

Test/medical certificate required

Proof of a negative PCR test or antigen test, taken within the previous 72 hours, must be provided at check-in.
Alternatively, those who have recovered from COVID-19 within 180 days prior to travel may provide a medical certificate from the treatment facility showing the diagnosis date and confirmation of recovery.

Other medical measures

All passengers are subject to health screening on arrival, such as temperature checks and visual assessment. Further health testing may be required for those displaying symptoms of COVID-19 and travelers may have to self-isolate for 10 days.

On return

Test/medical certificate required

Proof of a negative PCR test, taken within the previous 96 hours, must be provided on arrival. Alternatively, travelers can provide a negative rapid antigen test taken no more than 48 hours before departure.
Arrivals without a valid test result will be required to take a test on arrival. The test costs $50 USD and can only be paid in cash at the Health Testing Unit.
