Guatemala travel restrictions from Costa Rica

International travel to Guatemala is permitted. It is necessary to comply with requirements to ensure entry is permitted.

Open with conditions

If Brazil, the United Kingdom, or South Africa have been visited in the previous 14 days. There are exceptions in place for returning citizens and residents of Guatemala, who are required to self-isolate for 10 days at their place of residence.

Vaccinated traveller exceptions

Travelers who present a valid international certificate for full vaccination against COVID-19, with the use of an approved vaccine, are exempt from testing requirements. The final dose must have been administered more than 14 days before departure.

Test/medical certificate required

Proof of a negative PCR test or antigen test, taken within 72 hours prior to airline check-in, must be provided on arrival.
Alternatively, those who have recovered from COVID-19 within 180 days prior to travel are exempt from testing requirements and can provide a medical certificate showing the diagnosis date and confirmation of recovery.

Other medical measures

All passengers are subject to temperature checks on arrival.
