The Government of Haiti has declared a state of national emergency, and closed all sea, air, and land borders. If you’re already in Haiti and wish to return to Australia, we recommend you do so as soon as possible by commercial means. If you decide to remain in Haiti or can’t leave, follow the advice of local authorities, take care to protect yourself from exposure to COVID-19, ensure you have arrangements in place for an extended stay, and keep in contact with family and friends back home. Violent protests, roadblocks and supply shortages in Port-au-Prince and other cities have been continuing since February 2019.
We now advise you to:
Do not travel to Haiti.
