Iran travel restrictions from Rwanda

International travel to Iran is not permitted. This does not apply to nationals, residents, and valid visa holders.

Vaccination required

Travelers who have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19, with the use of an approved vaccine, are permitted to travel.
Iranian nationals arriving without proof of vaccination will undergo PCR testing on arrival and quarantine at a designated location until a negative test result is confirmed.

Test/medical certificate required

Travelers are required proof of a negative PCR test, taken within the previous 96 hours, on arrival.

Testing on arrival

Travelers are subject to testing on arrival.

Government measures

In addition to safety guidelines, preventative health measures such as frequent hand washing and social distancing are encouraged to combat further outbreaks. More restrictive or relaxed guidelines may be in place depending on the region you are visiting. We recommend keeping up-to-date with local guidelines throughout your trip.

Please be advised nightclubs are not allowed to operate in this country but the sale of alcohol is prohibited. Nightclubs may be closed in high-risk areas.

Shops

Shops and services are open with adapted safety measures in place, such as the use of hand sanitizer and social distancing. Non-essential shops may be closed in high-risk areas.

On return

Quarantine required

A second PCR test will be administered on arrival and travelers are required to quarantine for 24 hours at a designated hotel.

Test/medical certificate required

Proof of a negative RT-PCR test, taken within the previous 72 hours, must be provided on departure.

Additional test requirements

A COVID-19 test will be administered on day 3 and those testing negative will be released from quarantine. The test on arrival and day 3 test will cost $60 USD each for foreign citizens and $40 USD each for citizens. This test must be taken in Camp Kigali or in the nearest Provincial or District Hospitals outside Kigali.
Another test will be administered on day 7 after arrival. The test costs 47,200 RWF for foreign travelers and 30,000 RWF for citizens.
