Reconsider your need to travel

Weโ€™ve reviewed our advice for Mauritania. We havenโ€™t changed the level of our advice. Reconsider your need to travel. Higher levels apply in other areas. Protests and demonstrations occur from time to time. Avoid political gatherings and demonstrations, and follow the advice of local authorities. Some COVID-19 measures and restrictions are still in place. You need to provide proof of vaccination, or a negative COVID-19 test 72hrs before arrival (see 'Travel'). We advise: Reconsider your need to travel to Mauritania overall due to the high risk of terrorist attack, kidnapping and violent crime.
