Q

I am helping my girlfriend(future fiance) with a tourist visa to go from Manila, Philippines to Tulum, Mexico, as soon as possible. The instructions are a little confusing and seem a little different depending on where you look. 1) The requirements say you need a number of months of bank statements and credit card statements. My girlfriend does not have a credit card nor a bank account. She is employed, however. Does she have to open a bank account, checking, savings, or something else in order to get a visa OR are these only required if they exist? 2) When you look in different places on the internet you see rules stated differently and some seem more restrictive than others. How do you know you are doing everything right without clear direction from the Embassy/Consulate. 3) The requirement to prove that she has enough money to go to and back home from Mexico is ambiguous. Can I give her the money to put in an account that is sufficient to get her back home? How much? Could I post a bond? 4) I saw on one list of instructions different from this website that it is required to show 80,000 pesos in a bank account for 3 months. Is this required still? Can I give her the money to put in an account? Does she have to wait 3 months to get statements that show that amount of money? Is there a faster way? 5) I know that the government wants to make sure that a Filipino does become a burden on its country and that makes sense. But, is there a way to just put up a lump sum of money or bond so that we can travel now, rather than months from now? 6) I saw one place where you have to show ownership of real estate for the last 2 years. Are Filipinos required to own real estate in order to vacation in Mexico? 7) If I find travel to Mexico impossible or near impossible, is there a country we can go to now, instead of months from now?
