Myanmar travel restrictions from Hungary

International travel to Myanmar is not permitted and direct commercial flights are currently suspended. This does not apply to apply to relief flights, all-cargo flights, medical evacuation flights and special flights specifically approved by the Myanmar Department of Civil Aviation.
It is necessary to comply with requirements to ensure entry is allowed.

Exceptional travel

Travelers are required to have a valid visa for travel to Myanmar. The government of Myanmar has suspended the issuance of all types of visa, including tourist visas. Nationals do not need a visa but may only be allowed to travel to Myanmar on approved flights.

Vaccinations and vaccinated travel

Travelers who present a valid international certificate for full vaccination against COVID-19, with the use of an approved vaccine, are required to undergo a shortened quarantine of 7 days at an approved government facility or a designated hotel. In case of hotel quarantine, all costs incurred will be at the traveler's expense.

Quarantine required

Travelers are required to quarantine for 10 days on arrival at an approved government facility. RT-PCR tests will be conducted on day 3 and day 7. Travelers testing positive will be transferred to a designated hospital.
Further tests may be administered during this period. All costs incurred will be at the traveler's expense.

Government measures

A nationwide curfew is in place between the hours of 8 pm and 4 am. In Rangoon, a shorter curfew is in place between 10 pm and 4 am. Gatherings are limited across the country to a maximum of 4 people. We recommend keeping up-to-date with local guidelines throughout your trip.

Face masks are required in all public spaces.

Vaccinations and vaccinated travel

Travelers who present a valid international certificate for full vaccination against COVID-19, with the use of an approved vaccine, are exempt from testing and quarantine requirements.
The final dose must have been administered at least 14 days before departure.

Test/medical certificate required

Proof of a negative PCR test, taken within the previous 72 hours, must be provided on arrival. Travelers may instead provide documentation of having recovered from COVID-19. This will require proof of a positive test result, taken at least 14 days before arrival and not more than 180 days.
Test results must be in Hungarian or English and should be issued in a country within the European Union, the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development, or the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. Travelers without health documentation may not be allowed to enter or will be required to self-quarantine for 10 days. The quarantine period can be shortened if 2 PCR tests are confirmed negative once in Hungary, 48 hours apart and within the first 5 days.
