Reporting since late 2022 has identified the potential for increased attacks in Islamabad, including at major hotels. For entry into Pakistan

International travel to Pakistan is permitted for vaccinated travelers. It is necessary to comply with requirements to ensure entry is allowed.

Vaccination required

Travelers are required to present a valid international certificate for full vaccination against COVID-19 with the use of an approved vaccine.
Passengers who hold a medical certificate stating that they have been medically advised not to receive a COVID-19 vaccine may be exempted from the vaccination requirement. Further exemptions from the vaccination or testing requirement may be granted by the Pakistani Exemptions Committee.

Test/medical certificate required

Non-vaccinated travelers must provide proof of a negative PCR test, taken within the previous 72 hours, on departure.

Other medical measures

All passengers are subject to health screening on arrival to and before departing from Pakistan, such as temperature checks and visual assessment. Further health testing may be required for those displaying symptoms of COVID-19.

Vaccination required

Travelers are required to present a valid international certificate for full vaccination against COVID-19 with the use of an approved vaccine.
The final dose must have been administered at least 14 days before departure. Certificates must be in English or in Chinese.
Those who have recently recovered from COVID-19 and received one dose of vaccination, at least 14 days before departure, are also considered fully vaccinated.
There are exemptions for non-vaccinated citizens and residents.

Test/medical certificate required

Proof of a negative rapid antigen test, taken within the previous 24 hours, must be provided on departure.
Test certificates must be in English or Chinese.

A nucleic acid test will be administered upon arrival and apart from the transfer from the airport, proof of a negative test result is required to leave the place of residence.

Additional test requirements

Daily rapid antigen testing is required for the first 5 days after arrival. Additionally, travelers must undergo a PCR test on day 2.
