1. Flights to Panama restarted.

2. Passengers without a medical certificate with a negative Coronavirus (COVID-19) PCR or antigen test result issued at most 48 hours before arrival are subject to Coronavirus (COVID-19) test upon arrival, at their own expense. The certificate must be in Spanish or English.

- This does not apply to:

ย - passengers with a consular or a diplomatic passport;

ย - passengers with Laissez-Passer.

3. Residency permits issued by Panama that expired after 13 March 2020 are accepted for entry until 31 January 2021.

4. Expired multiple non-residents visas (Visa de no Residente) with an extension stamp issued by the consulate, are accepted until 31 January 2021, if:

ย - issued between 1 January 2020 and 31 October 2020, and

ย - expiry date is between 13 March 2020 and 31 January 2021.

Commercial flights leaving Panama are mostly suspended, but unscheduled flights may become available at short notice with carriers such as Spirit Airlines. Book directly with the airlines. Check US and Canadian entry or transit requirements. To transit through Canada, youโ€™ll need evidence of an onward connecting flight. If you secure a flight out, you may need to show authorities a letter of โ€˜salvoconductoโ€™ (safe passage) to get to the airport. Contact the Australian Consulate in Panama City (see Local contacts). If you're remaining in Panama, check the list of essential services available on the website of the Australian Embassy in Mexico City. There's a curfew in place, and you must wear a facemask when going outside. We now advise you to: Do not travel to Panama.
