There's an ongoing and very high threat of terrorist attacks throughout Afghanistan, including in Kabul. Terrorists continue to target foreigners, NGOs and humanitarian operations. Foreign nationals, including , also face a serious threat of kidnapping or detention. There are no Australian consular officials present in Afghanistan, and our ability to provide consular assistance to Australians in Afghanistan is severely limited. We continue to advise: Do not travel to Afghanistan due to the extremely dangerous security situation and the very high threat of terrorist attack.
