Turkey travel restrictions from Afghanistan

International travel to Turkey is permitted. It is necessary to comply with requirements to ensure entry is allowed.

If another country has been visited in the previous 14 days that is considered high-risk, travelers may not be allowed to enter. The list of high-risk countries, quarantine duration, and test dates can be found at https://www.gov.uk/foreign-travel-advice/turkey/entry-requirements

Quarantine required

Travelers are required to quarantine in a government-approved hotel for 10 days. A PCR test will be administered on day 7 and those who test negative will be relieved from quarantine.
The hotel stay must be booked prior to travel and the booking confirmation must be presented on arrival. A list of government-approved hotels can be found at http://web.shgm.gov.tr/tr/covid-19-tedbirler/6599-izolasyon-otelleri
Citizens, residents of Turkey, and work permit holders may quarantine at their own residence for 10 days. A PCR test will be administered on day 7 and those who test negative will be relieved from quarantine.

Proof of a negative PCR test, taken within the previous 72 hours, must be provided on departure.

Other medical measures

All passengers are subject to health screening on arrival, such as temperature checks and visual assessment. Further health testing may be required for those displaying symptoms of COVID-19.

Government measures

Although restrictions are gradually lifting, they may be re-introduced at any time and preventative health measures remain encouraged. Smoking is currently prohibited in open areas. Face masks are required in public spaces, enclosed environments, and while on public transport.

Public transport

Public transportation is operating as usual for foreign travelers. Turkish citizens and residents must have a 'travel permit' which can be applied for at https://www.turkiye.gov.tr/
Turkish citizens and residents must also download the 'Hayat Eve Sigar' (HES) application which will generate a code for domestic and international flights, train, and ferry travel. The HES code may also be requested when checking in to accommodation or when entering public places. This does not apply to foreign travelers.

Bars are open as usual.

Nightclubs

Nightclubs remain closed to limit the rate of transmission.

Shops

Shops and services are open with adapted safety measures in place, such as the use of hand sanitizer and social distancing.
