Turkey travel restrictions from Ecuador

International travel to Turkey is permitted. It is necessary to comply with requirements to ensure entry is permitted.

Open with conditions

Passengers who have visited a high-risk country in the previous 14 days will be required to quarantine in a state facility. A PCR test will be administered during this period and those who test negative will be relieved from quarantine.
The list of high-risk countries, quarantine duration, and test dates can be found at https://tr.usembassy.gov/covid-19-information-2/

Vaccinated traveller exceptions

Travelers who present a valid international certificate for full vaccination against COVID-19, with the use of an approved vaccine, are exempt from the quarantine and testing requirements.
The final dose must have been administered at least 14 days before departure.

Test/medical certificate required

Proof of a negative PCR test taken within the previous 72 hours or a rapid antigen test taken within 48 hours must be provided on departure.
Alternatively, those who have recently recovered from COVID-19 are exempt from testing requirements and may provide proof of a positive antigen or PCR test, taken at least 14 days before departure and not more than 180 days, on departure.
Citizens arriving without any of the documents above will be required to take a test on arrival and must quarantine until a negative result is confirmed.

Other medical measures

All travelers are subject to medical evaluation on arrival. Passengers showing symptoms of being unwell will undergo a PCR test at the airport. If a positive result is returned, self-quarantine at a government facility will be required at the traveler's expense.

Additional documents required

An entry form must be completed within 72 hours of departure. - Entry form

Government measures

Although restrictions are gradually lifting, they may be re-introduced at any time and preventative health measures remain encouraged. Smoking is currently prohibited in open areas. We recommend keeping up to date with official local guidelines. A map of the regions and risk levels can be found in Turkish at https://covid19.saglik.gov.tr/

Use of masks

Face masks are required in public spaces, enclosed environments, and while on public transport.

Public transport

Public transportation is operating as usual for foreign travelers. Turkish citizens and residents must have a 'travel permit' which can be applied for at https://www.turkiye.gov.tr/
Turkish citizens and residents must also download the 'Hayat Eve Sigar' (HES) application which will generate a code for domestic and international flights, train, and ferry travel. The HES code may also be requested when checking in to accommodation or when entering public places. This does not apply to foreign travelers.

Restaurants

Restaurants are open as usual but face masks must be worn unless seated.

Bars

Bars are open as usual but face masks must be worn unless seated.

Nightclubs

Nightclubs remain closed to limit the rate of transmission.

Shops

Shops and services are open with adapted safety measures in place, such as the use of hand sanitizer and social distancing.

On return

Vaccinated traveller exceptions

Travelers who present a valid international certificate for full vaccination against COVID-19, with the use of an approved vaccine, are exempt from testing requirements.

Test/medical certificate required

Proof of a negative RT-PCR test, taken within the previous 72 hours, must be provided on arrival. Airlines may deny boarding if this evidence cannot be provided on departure.
Alternatively, proof of having recovered from COVID-19 can be shown. The positive test must be at least 1 month old.

Testing on arrival

Arrivals may be randomly selected to undergo rapid antigen tests which will be carried out by health officials at the airport. If the antigen test result is positive, self-isolation will be required for 10 days.
