Major restrictions for travel

For entry into United States

International travel to the United States is permitted for vaccinated travelers. There are exceptions for non-vaccinated citizens and permanent residents.
It is necessary to comply with requirements to ensure entry is allowed.

Other restrictions

Non-vaccinated foreign travelers staying 60 days or longer are required to become fully vaccinated against COVID-19 within 60 days of arriving in the United States, or as soon as medically appropriate.

Vaccination required

Travelers are required to present a valid international certificate for full vaccination against COVID-19 with the use of an approved vaccine.
The final dose must have been administered at least 14 days before departure.
U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and those with special authorization are exempt from the vaccination requirement.

Quarantine required

Non-vaccinated foreign travelers are required to self-quarantine for 5 days on arrival and to undergo a viral test 3 to 5 days after arrival.
Travelers may instead provide documentation of having recovered from COVID-19. This will require proof of a positive test result, taken not more than 90 days before departure.
Non-vaccinated citizens and permanent residents are exempt from quarantine requirements.

Other medical measures

All travelers are recommended to take a viral test 3 to 5 days after arrival and self-monitor for symptoms.

Additional documents required

A completed 'disclosure and attestation' form must be presented prior to boarding by all foreign travelers.

Test/medical certificate required

Proof of a negative rapid antigen test, taken within the previous 24 hours, must be provided on departure.
Test certificates must be in English or Chinese.

Testing on arrival

A nucleic acid test will be administered upon arrival and apart from the transfer from the airport, proof of a negative test result is required to leave the place of residence.

Additional test requirements

Daily rapid antigen testing is required for the first 5 days after arrival. Additionally, travelers must undergo a PCR test on day 2.
