Zimbabwe travel restrictions from Costa Rica

International travel to Zimbabwe is permitted. It is necessary to comply with requirements to ensure entry is allowed.

Travelers arriving from or who have transited through India are required to undergo quarantine at a designated facility.
Travelers will be tested within 48 hours after arrival and on days 3, 5, and 10 of the quarantine period. The testing and quarantine costs will be at the traveler's expense.

Quarantine required

Travelers are required to self-quarantine for 10 days on arrival at their own residence or accommodation.

Test/medical certificate required

Proof of a negative PCR test, taken within the previous 48 hours, must be provided on departure. Travelers are required to present a valid test result on the Trusted Travel Initiative Platform.

Government measures

An indefinite lockdown is in effect throughout Zimbabwe and it is encouraged to avoid unnecessary travel. A daily curfew is in place between the hours of 6:30 pm to 6 am, which is enforced by security services and gatherings are banned. We recommend keeping up-to-date with official guidelines throughout your trip.

Face masks are required in all public spaces and on public transportation.

Public transportation is operating on a limited schedule and intercity travel is prohibited.


Restaurants are open. Entry is only allowed for those who can present proof of full vaccination.

Shops and services are open with adapted safety measures in place, such as the use of hand sanitizer and social distancing. Non-essential shops may open from 8 am and 3:30 pm and markets must also close at 3:30 pm.

Vaccinated traveller exceptions

Travelers who present a valid international certificate for full vaccination against COVID-19, with the use of an approved vaccine, are not required to provide proof of travel insurance.
The final dose must have been administered at least 14 days before arrival.
