Zimbabwe has introduced a new local currency, Zimbabwe Gold (ZiG). USD is widely accepted, but this could change with little notice (see 'Travel'). Frequent and lengthy power outages and water shortages are possible. Demonstrations and protests in Zimbabwe can be unpredictable and may turn violent quickly.
