Tourist travel was historically prohibited under U.S. law for U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and others subject to U.S. jurisdiction. Under the Cuban Assets Control Regulations, all persons subject to U.S. jurisdiction are not permitted to travel to Cuba, and must be licensed in order to engage in any travel-related transactions pursuant to travel to, from, and within Cuba. In July 2015, the United States resumed diplomatic relations with Cuba. Discussions on lifting the travel ban have initiated. On June 16, 2017, U.S. President Donald Trump announced new travel restrictions.
Tourist Card can be extended up to maximum 60 days with a fee.
