Items allowed to import is Personal goods, including jewellery, electronics, sports equipment, and musical instruments. Prohibited items is Firearms and ammunition, as well as toys in the shape of firearms. Some of restricted items are Endangered animals, plants, and their derivative products protected under the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species (CITES) may require protected species permits.

Import Regulations

Free to import items into Egypt

Tobacco

  • 200 grams of cigarettes;
  • 25 cigars; or
  • 200 grams of tobacco.

Alcohol

  • Funds of US$10,000 (or its foreign equivalent) or more must be declared to the customs authorities.
  • A maximum of E£5000 may be brought into Egypt.

Currency

  • Funds of US$10,000 (or its foreign equivalent) or more must be declared to the customs authorities.
  • A maximum of E£5000 may be brought into Egypt.

Other items

  • Personal goods, including jewellery, electronics, sports equipment, and musical instruments.
  • New goods up to a value of E£1500.
  • Medicines for personal use accompanied by a doctor's prescription.

Prohibited items into Egypt

  • Firearms and ammunition, as well as toys in the shape of firearms.
  • Explosives and fireworks.
  • Drugs.
  • Coral reefs.
  • The following plants and their derivative products: mangos, citrus fruits, palm trees, fruit seeds, cotton seeds, and soil.
  • Honey and its derivative products.

Restricted items into Egypt
